Harmony

Today I bought my son a harmonica.

And as he belted out his very first tune through the aisles of the general store—with barrel pickles at $1.25 now! Inflation hath no fury—his entire world opened up to his own ability to create music, sound, variation. He played it so quietly, so caringly, so well. And later in the car, ballad after ballad, he even¬†pantomimed a little bow from his car seat after the finale.

And this, this joy, has made all the difference. God bless this child, I am so very grateful to be his mother.
